Always Forgive but Never Forget... Moving Forward.

When it comes to many of our own life experiences, we all like to believe: “life is throwing many hard balls at me. Why me?!”

With this, many of us have one huge problem: holding grudges. Mind you, I said many not all. I’m sure a lot of you are pretty good at putting the past behind you but some of us just aren’t stoics.

In ways, I can relate. I’ve held many grudges in my life (not too long, only 21 years) but based on life experience, you either hold a grudge and let it eat at you or you learn to forgive and thank whoever or whatever for teaching you a lesson and never forget that lesson. This helps you move on.

First, ask yourself: What makes me who I am? Why am I here right now, Why do I feel this way? Does it have to do with the situation or person you’re not wanting to forgive? The situation that popped into your head, whether it’s from years ago or a day ago or even an hour ago.

You’re so tied up in the negativity of life because you hate to raise your expectations. But you’re missing the point of life: positive vibes man, am I right?

Again, as said in the last blog: never expect anything from others, only from YOURSELF.

I want you to take this moment and reflect on all of the negative things that have happened to you.
Now, think of the many ways that those situations have taught you something. The lessons you learned on how to act versus how not to act. Now can you agree, that you have learned something from your past ordeals?

Now that you have the lessons listed in your head, What do you think these lessons did for you? Did they bring you down and make you weak? Or did they make you who you are today by making you a stronger version of yourself? Our experiences and environment, since birth, have shaped us to who we are today.

So, I want you to finally say THANK YOU. Thank the lessons that made you who YOU are. You wouldn’t be who you are today without those experiences.

The hardest things in life will wear you down but know you will come out on top in the end.

FORGIVE. Forgive these things and those people, because you are grateful for what it has taught you. It has made you who you are.

My brother Zayn told me, “Your destiny is in your hands and no one can take that away from you. Until you realize that, you will not be happy”. Until and unless you realize you are the source to all of your negative thoughts, you will always live in a deep hole full of negativity. By throwing positive thoughts into the world, it will create a boomerang effect and positivity will come right back to you.

Never FORGET these moments, because again you learned something from it. You learned how to be headstrong in your decisions, how to step in someone else’s shoes and look at things from their perspective, how to put your ego aside for the betterment of yourself, and most importantly you have finally learned how to begin moving forward.

Be thankful for your life lessons, but never forget them for they have taught you the many ways on how to cope with yourself, how to get in touch with your emotions, showed you the real you, and taught you something that nothing else in life can teach you: self-strength. Mind over matter. Don’t let yourself down, get up and keep on moving forward. There will always be bumps along the way, but on the way to your success, as long as you keep moving forward.

Until Next Time, Z
XOXO
